Google announces the Nexus 10, the most capable iPad rival yet

Google has announced the Nexus 10 tablet, a ten-inch device with a higher screen resolution than the current iPad. It comes on the heels of Apple's own launch of the iPad Mini, which enters into a market niche which has been largely occupied by Android devices and Amazon's Kindle Fire.

The Nexus 10 will be manufactured by Samsung, too, which adds an extra element of competition to the mix. While Samsung's products may not be " as cool" as their Apple-designed alternatives…
