1DollarScan Launches a First-of-its-kind Monthly Membership Program for High Volume Book and Document Scanning
San Jose, CA, January 8, 2013 – 1DollarScan, an innovative service offering the world’s most affordable and advanced book scanning technology, has become the first company in the U.S. to offer a just-announced monthly membership program for book and document scanning with a variety of free features with no long-term commitments to the customer.
The regular price for basic scanning by 1DollarScan is $1.00 for 100 pages (which constitutes “one set”). A newly launched Platinum Lite Membership costs only $14.99 a month which includes basic scanning plus many extra options such as free OCR (Optical Character Recognition) enabling users to search their book digitally after it is scanned, a Book Title Option, a Magazine Option (allowing magazines to be scanned), and free Express Service for 10 scan sets (a $62.00 value) while the Platinum Membership for larger orders includes the same benefits as the Platinum Lite Service and runs $99.99 a month for 100 scan sets (a $620.00 value). Membership orders are generally completed and delivered to customers in 5 to 10 business days.
More information on the 1DollarScan Platinum and Platinum Lite memberships is available at http://1dollarscan.com/membership.php.
An Amazon Direct Option also comes free with the Platinum and Platinum Lite Memberships and allows 1DollarScan users to find books that aren’t yet available as an eBook version, including for the Kindle, Nook, or other digital readers. This has become a popular option because there are many physical books that are out-of-print or not yet available digitally.
Books can be sent directly from any online book store, to 1DollarScan’s Silicon Valley, CA office to be scanned and converted into digital PDF files that are fully compatible with most digital readers and devices including the Apple iPad®, Amazon Kindle and Kindle Fire, and the Barnes & Noble Nook and Nook Color tablets. Upon receipt of a purchased book from any online book store,, 1DollarScan cuts and scans the book and delivers a digital file version in PDF format to the customer. All books being scanned will be dissolved and recycled as used paper after the digitizing process.
1DollarScan’s newly launched membership program is made possible by a proprietary internal software developed in Japan, which forms a critical part of a very streamlined process for cutting and scanning high volume books and documents at exceptionally affordable prices.
1Dollarscan also has developed a patented, proprietary technology called Fine Tune, which compresses and optimizes a customer’s digital files for a better user experience. Fine Tune is offered for free to all 1DollarScan users and works for many e-readers including the iPad and iPhone, Kindle, Nook, Sony Readers, and most Android-enabled devices.
“1DollarScan’s first-of its-kind Platinum and Platinum Lite memberships give customers the ability to take their physical printed media into the digital realm accurately, securely, and at a low cost utilizing our unique technology,” says Hiroshi Nakano, CEO of 1DollarScan. “We invite avid readers to take advantage of our new affordable memberships that offer many free innovative features!”
1DollarScan completely respects the copyrights of publishers and offers its scanning services for the private use and enjoyment of its users. 1DollarScan customers must adhere to the company’s Terms and Conditions that are based on the right of Fair Use.
