Elsevier Caught Offering Gift Cards for Positive Amazon Reviews
June 24, 2009Elsevier found itself with some explaining to do earlier this week, when it was caught offering $25 Amazon or Barnes & Noble gift cards to contributors to its new textbook who agreed to give it a five-star review on the sites, according to a report on InsideHigherEd.com.
The company immediately expressed regret at the marketing ploy.
