According Almanac Publisher Sherin Pierce, an e-book version is a milestone in the evolution of the 220-year-old /Old Farmer’s Almanac/. “We’ve been researching and designing the e-book version of /The Old Farmer’s Almanac/ for years. For us, it wasn’t enough just to make one available; it was essential that whether reading the Almanac on a mobile device or on bound paper, the experience was equally satisfying.”
“There’s a reason we’ve been around for 220 years. We move with the times, while always endeavoring to be—as our founder Robert B. Thomas wrote—‘useful, with a pleasant degree of humor.’”
To celebrate the e-book release, the Almanac has launched a sweepstakes via Facebook to give away a brand-new Kindle Fire. A winner will be chosen at random from all entrants after March 1, 2012. In addition, one contest entrant will be selected weekly to receive an e-book copy of the 2012 Almanac from Amazon.com
