Amazon.com launches original programming, interviews authors
While guests are being interviewed, a link to the page where visitors can purchase the product being discussed appears on screen.
Amazon will not be releasing a tally of viewers or purchases related directly to the show.
“We are not disclosing specific sales or traffic numbers, but I can tell you that the interest from customers has exceeded our expectations,” Herdener says. “The No. 1 priority for the show is that it be entertaining -- that it draws customers in every week, and feedback from customers so far tells us that we’re doing that.”
Herdener says the company is already working to develop additional shows of a similar nature.
“We have not announced a timeline or specifics except to say that they will all have the same mission as Amazon Fishbowl -- to entertain customers and help them discover new authors, filmmakers and musicians,” he says.
