Change Management Is Key to Digital Book Printing Success
Change is a constant in the business world, yet many book publishing leaders fail to plan for it. Although change can come unexpectedly, in the form of new technology or nascent media formats, these disruptions can be managed, and often they hold new opportunities for book publishers.
That is the case with the rise of digital book printing. Although it requires a new way of thinking about book printing costs and greater collaboration with printers, the technology is making it possible for publishers to increase efficiency and develop new revenue streams. We’ll explore how publishers can manage change within their organizations in order to capitalize on the digital printing opportunity during our keynote session at the Digital Book Printing Conference on November 17th in New York City.
Leading the keynote, “Making Change in the Publishing Industry,” is Carolyn Pittis, managing director at Welman Digital LLC. Pittis is a 27-year veteran of the publishing industry and currently works as a consultant, helping creative organizations increase efficiencies and effectiveness through change management and process and organizational design. Pittis will explore how publishing leaders can improve their cultures to better implement digital printing and organize their production teams for success. Technology is important, but as this keynote discussion will demonstrate, technology is only as valuable as the people and culture behind it.
The digital book printing conference is a one-day event that will attract 150 book publishers, manufacturers, and equipment suppliers to learn more about digital book printing opportunities and trends. Now in it’s third year, the conference has expanded to include book publisher- and manufacturer-specific sessions. Attendees can expect to hear from printing and procurement experts, industry analysts, and book publishers that are optimizing their book production and distribution with digital printing and workflow technology. Also new for 2016, the Digital Book Printing Conference will be a free, invite-only event. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the following inquiry form and a member of our team will be in touch.
