Press Release: Copyright Clearance Center Announces Next Generation RightsLink® for Open Access Platform
Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a global licensing and content solutions organization, has announced its next generation RightsLink® for Open Access platform.
"For nearly ten years, many of the world's largest publishers have used RightsLink to manage their author fees"
The rapid growth of Open Access (OA) has introduced new complexities into scholarly and scientific publishing. As the OA opportunity evolves publishers need efficiency and flexibility, authors and institutions need a smooth and easy process for paying OA and other charges, and funders need proof of compliance with their policies.
CCC's nimble and configurable platform addresses these needs by streamlining the entire author fee transaction, ensuring critical research gets published as quickly as possible.
"For nearly ten years, many of the world's largest publishers have used RightsLink to manage their author fees," said Bill Neuman, CCC Vice President, Products. "We designed this next generation global solution based on what we've learned in the market, and the information received from customers and partners who deal with Open Access every day."
RightsLink for Open Access streamlines the entire author fee transaction for OA charges, Article Processing Charges (APCs), page charges, color charges, and more. It integrates with publishers' manuscript management and production systems, providing robust billing and collections services, priority customer service to authors, and detailed reporting to both publishers and authors. At launch, RightsLink for Open Access will have a deep integration with Aries Systems' Editorial Manager, providing for seamless APC management from within the editorial workflow.
For an author, or a designee paying on behalf of an author, RightsLink for Open Access is an easy-to-use platform for submitting pre-publication charges. It offers accurate estimates for APCs and other fees upon manuscript submission, including discounts resulting from publisher-provided vouchers or waivers, and provides easy payment options at check-out.
