Press Release: HarperCollins Announces New Global Podcast Network: ‘HarperCollins Presents’
New York, NY (October 27, 2014) — HarperCollins Publishers today announced HarperCollins Presents, a new, global podcast network that brings listeners conversation and inspiration from authors, editors and creators, and promises new perspectives on the world of books, culture and arts.
Each week the HarperCollins Presents podcast series will feature an exchange of ideas from leading authors and creatives – from home-grown heroes to global stars. It will take listeners behind the scenes, explaining the mysteries of the creative process and inspiring fans to think differently.
“HarperCollins has proven adept at creating vibrant podcasts. With 1.4 million current SoundCloud subscribers across the US and UK divisions, we feel a global network of podcasts will benefit both our authors and their fans,” said Nick Perrett, Group Director of Strategy and Digital for HarperCollins UK. “HarperCollins is a global company with global authors benefiting from a global direct-to-consumer approach – and HarperCollins Presents is a great addition to our strategy.”
“Our authors are some of the most interesting people in the world. Now you can hear their voices and thoughts in addition to reading their words,” said Ana Maria Allessi, Publisher of HarperAudio and VP of Digital Innovation. ”It’s an exciting time for audio and we’re happy to support new ways for authors to engage with their readers.”
Episodes featuring UK comedian and author David Baddiel, Wilbur Smith and Veronica Roth are available now. Upcoming segments include Patricia Cornwell, Bernard Cornwell, Garth Nix, David Cronenberg and Alexander McCall Smith. HarperCollins Presents can be found on iTunes, SoundCloud, Sticher and Sticher.
