How to Prepare for the future of eMedia: Small Demons' Richard Nash to Speak at the Publishing Business Conference & Expo
According to Richard Eoin Nash, vice president of Content and Community of Small Demons, the key to winning consumers' attention is to be innovative and discoverable. Nash, an industry veteran and well-known thought-leader, will be speaking at the Publishing Business Conference & Expo about strategies to revitalize the attention on books during his session, A New Way to Drive People to Content.
Nash told Publishing Business Today that he wants to propose priorities that each publisher can implement in order to make effective decisions in the coming years. With an economy shifting from print to digital, Nash offers his expert insight on how to evaluate new opportunities.
"No one can predict the future, but you can prepare for it with a set of guiding principles," he says.
Nash will discuss the tools by which a publisher can measure its viral popularity, including Facebook's "like" feature, Amazon's consumption graph and others. A publishers' biggest priority is to concentrate on consumer demand in order to excel.
"You need to increase the possibilities for serendipity. That's the most important thing you can do," he says. "Gaining clarity around 'why,' so that you can live that mission out in your day-to-day publishing activities, that's the critical thing."
