Increased Revenue for Simon & Schuster
Revenue for Simon & Schuster increased 14 percent to $200.3 million compared to $176 million in the second quarter of 2006.
The report cited that the growth was a result of higher sales from several best-selling titles, including “Blaze” by Stephen King, written under his pseudonym Richard Bachman, and “The Secret” by Rhonda Bryne.
This brings the publisher’s 2007 revenue total to $429.6 million thus far, a 20-percent increase compared to $357.1 million in 2006.
The company also released that its operating income for the quarter was $18.1 million, up from $8.2 million over the same period last year.
