Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children's Books, has published its first enhanced e-book, a movie tie-in to Wendelin Van Draanen's teen romance "Flipped," which will be released nationwide Aug. 27 as a major motion picture from Castle Rock Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures. The ehanced e-book was released Aug. 10 and retails for $14.99.
The "Flipped" enhanced e-book includes an exclusive video feature about the making of the movie with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews from the director and cast as well as three original songs written and recorded by author Wendelin Van Draanen. It also features eight video clips of key scenes from the movie, 16 full-color photos from the film, four video interviews with the author, and a sneak peek of Van Draanen's latest romantic comedy "Confessions of a Serial Kisser."
In addition to the enhanced e-book, Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers will also publish a trade paperback version of the "Flipped" movie tie-in, as well as a regular e-book edition. The trade paperback will include an eight-page, full-color insert with movie stills, a Q-and-A with Van Draanen about the novel, and an excerpt from "Confessions of a Serial Kisser." The movie tie-in retails for $8.99 and is 240 pages, and the e-book movie tie-in will retail for the same price.
