SPi Global Acquires Laserwords Private Limited

(PRESS RELEASE) SPi Global has acquired Laserwords Private Limited, a leading provider of technology-driven end-to-end solutions to leading publishers of school (K-12), higher education, academic, as well as professional publications. Laserwords, founded in 1983, has 1,300 employees in three production facilities globally.

The acquisition further strengthens the position of SPi Global in the Publishing sector. SPi Global President and CEO Maulik Parekh said that this acquisition will expand the depth and breadth of the company’s content solutions business, making it hard to rival in the industry. “With the combined strength of two leaders in the global publishing space, our clients will get unmatched and an even more comprehensive suite of solutions for print, electronic, and database products,” Parekh explained.

“This strategic acquisition will complement SPi Global’s strong presence in the Scientific, Technical, Medical and Legal verticals with Laserwords’ established foothold in the Education sector. We expect that this will expand and deepen our engagements with existing clients and also attract prospective clients,” Parekh added.

Aside from its content solutions business, SPi Global, with its 15,000 employees in 24 locations worldwide, also offers customer relationship management (CRM) and healthcare information management solutions.
