Springer Celebrates 10,000th MyCopy Milestone
Springer Science+Business Media recently celebrated the 10,000th MyCopy purchase by a researcher at Auraria Library (library.auraria.edu) an academic library serving the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver and Community College of Denver. As a way to recognize this milestone, the researcher who purchased the 10,000th title will receive 10 free MyCopy books. In addition, all members of the The Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries were presented with six months of free access to SpringerReference (www.springerreference.com).
MyCopy is a service established in 2008 that allows library users to order personal, on-demand softcover editions of eBooks for $24.95 (or €24.95). This service is valid for more than 20,000 Springer eBook titles, and is available to registered patrons of libraries that have purchased one or multiple Springer eBooks packages.
“We are excited to pass this milestone for the MyCopy service with our customers at The Alliance,”said Jennifer Kemp, eProduct Manager for eBooks at Springer. “We are pleased that both researchers and libraries alike recognize the value provided by the MyCopy service, and we are delighted to offer this print-on-demand option to users.”
Auraria Library University Librarian/Director Mary Somerville said, “We are extremely pleased that our researchers are finding added value in our Springer eBook collection, and I know I speak for all of the university libraries in The Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries consortium when I say we appreciate the free access to SpringerReference. I am also sure that our lucky researcher will put those 10 free MyCopy books to great use.”
