Tarcher/Penguin Acquires Title from Author Solutions Imprint
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Author Solutions, Inc. (ASI), the world leader in indie book publishing, announced today that “The Procrastinator’s Digest,” by Timothy A. Pychal, Ph.D., which he self-published with Xlibris, has been acquired by Tarcher, an imprint of Penguin Group (USA).
“Tarcher/Penguin is excited to sign up one of Author Solutions’ success stories and bring it to an even wider audience,” said Joel Fotinos, vice president and publisher, Tarcher/Penguin. “We are always looking for books that inspire people to live their greatest lives, and Dr. Pychal’s book helps readers do just that by showing them how they can overcome the damaging and pervasive habit of procrastination. Dr. Pychal’s expertise, humor, and passion for helping people cope with this issue inspired us, and we’re honored to publish this book.”
The acquisition was finalized on May 7. Tarcher/Penguin will re-release the book under the title “Solving the Procrastination Puzzle,” first as an e-Book in July, then in trade paperback in January 2014. The new edition will include additional research, a new introduction and other changes. Fotinos said the book fits perfectly with Tarcher/Penguin, as the imprint publishes books of inspiration and motivation.
“We’re thrilled that Dr. Pychal has realized his goal of having his book acquired by a prestigious publisher like Tarcher/Penguin,” said Kevin Weiss, ASI president and CEO. “It’s another example of how self-publishing is opening up new opportunities for authors and why it’s the best time ever to be an author.”
