Springer extends free access for digital library project in Haiti

Heidelberg / New York, 16 July 2012 As Haiti continues to rebuild in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake, Springer Science+Business Media announced that it will extend the period of free access to its online platform www.springerlink.com , through 2015 to 15,000 students and researchers in the devastated country. This donation– initially set to expire in 2013 – will provide scientific content from approximately 2,000 research-level scientific journals, including French-language editions, and the state-of-the-art book series Lecture Notes in Computer Science and Lecture Notes in Mathematics.

Springer launches new open access journal with Tsinghua University Press

Springer and Tsinghua University Press will jointly publish the new SpringerOpen journal Journal of Advanced Ceramics (JAC). This new international journal is the only English-language ceramics journal based in China, fully sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of New Ceramics and Fine Processing at Tsinghua University. Articles are now available online on www.springerlink.com

Scottish Library Consortium (SHEDL) Signs Comprehensive Licensing Agreement with Springer

Springer and the Scottish Higher Education Digital Library Consortium (SHEDL) recently signed a ground-breaking agreement for access to electronic journal subscriptions and eBooks on Springer’s platform SpringerLink. Every SHEDL member will now have access to an enormous database of content consisting of nearly 2,000 journals and over 40,000 eBooks.

Springer Celebrates 10,000th MyCopy Milestone

Springer Science+Business Media recently celebrated the 10,000th MyCopy purchase by a researcher at Auraria Library (library.auraria.edu) an academic library serving the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver and Community College of Denver. As a way to recognize this milestone, the researcher who purchased the 10,000th title will receive 10 free MyCopy books. Springer And The Beijing Normal University Press Sign Agreement On New Book Series

STM publisher Springer and Beijing Normal University Press (BNUP) will co-publish a new book series IHDP-Integrated Risk Governance Project Series. The agreements for the first seven titles of this series were signed by Derk Haank, CEO Springer Science+Business Media, and Prof. Geng Yang, CEO of BNUP, at this year’s London Book Fair.
