In a funny way, fan fiction is the purest form of literary art there is, the one most untainted by commerce. Amazon’s ready to change that. A new program called Kindle Worlds will let would-be writers publish, and profit from, fan-fictional e-books with the blessing of the original characters’ creators…

For a limited two week period, Harper Voyager will be accepting submissions from authors without an agent. Voyager, HarperCollins’ science fiction and fantasy imprint, says it is “seeking new authors with fresh voices, strong storytelling abilities, original ideas and compelling storylines.”

The UK, American and Australian offices are collaborating on the project, jointly selecting and editing selected manuscripts. Authors will be able to submit their manuscript online between 1st and 14th October but need only apply if…
