Jane Friedman to Keynote Publishing Business Virtual Conference
(Philadelphia, PA - September 30, 2009) -- Book Business magazine announces that special guest Jane Friedman, CEO, OpenRoad Integrated Media LLC and former CEO, HarperCollins Publishers Worldwide, will be interviewed by Book Business Editor-in-Chief Noelle Skodzinski at the Publishing Business Virtual Conference & Expo, called Digital Content Day @ Your Desk, on October 29, 2009, at 10:30 am (EST).
About Jane Friedman
Friedman served as President and Chief Executive Officer of HarperCollins Publishers Worldwide, one of the world's leading English-language publishers and a subsidiary of News Corp., from November 1997 through June 2008. She oversaw HarperCollins book publishing including operations in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and India, and initiated publishing relationships in China.
During her time at HarperCollins, Friedman led the company to a trend of rising revenues and record-breaking profits, as well as countless honors for fine publishing. Under Friedman's leadership, HarperCollins launched Publishing+, a way to organically grow the business and create a truly global publishing company. Friedman's decision to create a global digital warehouse, including digital files of its core backlist and future books, positioned the company as a leader in the industry and propelled HarperCollins into the 21st century of publishing.
