Cascades Introduces New Rolland Enviro100 Paper for On-Demand Printing
Cascades Fine Papers Group Inc. has introduced an environmental paper specially designed for digital printing. The Rolland Enviro100 Digital is available in various formats and basis weights as required for on-demand printing projects.
The Rolland Enviro100 Digital contains 100-percent post-consumer fiber and, like other Rolland Enviro100 products, is certified EcoLogo, Processed Chlorine Free and Forest Stewardship Council Recycled. The paper also is made using biogas energy, a renewable energy from decomposing waste at a waste management landfill facility.
"It works perfectly on digital equipment and gives wonderful results," says Julie Loyer, a Cascades spokesperson. "It would work great for on-demand book printing if an exact thickness is not needed."
According to Loyer, Cascades also manufactures Rolland Enviro100 Book in an antique finish. "Available in both white and natural, it has the thickness desired in the book publishing world," she says. "It is used for black-and-white printing mostly. The line also has a 'schoolbook' version, whiter and more solid, used with color printing. It is perfect for books going into kids' hands."
