This week's mediaIDEAS onPoint chart shows the percentage of U.S. adults owning a variety of devices. Recent survey data published by The Pew Research Center found that only 8% of adults owned a tablet, 12% owned an e-paper e-reader, and 3% owned both. Compared to around 50% of adults owning an MP3 player, a digital video recorder (DVR), a laptop, and/or a desktop, and 83% owning a cell phone, e-reading devices seem to be the least significant of devices. But given their aggressive growth, betting against them would not be wise.
