“With the introduction of the BLM500, we can help ensure print operations have all the tools they need to maximize opportunities and profits in the evolving digital printing market,” said Eric de Goeijen, vice president, marketing, Océ North America.
The compact BLM500 combines stitching, folding, spine forming and long-edge trimming to produce square-spined books of up to 200 pages or 10 millimeters in thickness, which is double the capacity of previous technologies. The book maker also produces finished books from a single workflow, with little or no intervention from an operator required. “Océ is committed to leading the industry in delivering digital book printing and high-end document production solutions. … We will be the first to market a book maker that can finish booklets up to 50 sheets or 200 pages with a square spine,” said de Goeijen.
