Statement by Stephen M. Smith, Wiley’s President & CEO Regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Kirtsaeng v John Wiley & Sons
Hoboken, N.J., March 19, 2013 — We are disappointed that the U.S. Supreme Court has decided in favor of Supap Kirtsaeng and overturned the Second Circuit’s ruling. It is a loss for the U.S. economy, and students and authors in the U.S. and around the world.
Wiley wants to thank the many organizations, companies, and individuals who filed Amicus briefs and spoke publicly and privately in support of our position.
