NEW YORK, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. consumers are finding the price of digital tablets dropping sharply, a trend that could continue, market analysts say. Barnes & Noble’s Nook family of tablets experienced record sales during the nine-week holiday period at the end of 2011, the company announced. Color tablets Nook Color and Nook Tablet sold especially well, while the black and white Nook Simple Touch underperformed, Barnes & Noble says. The company expects the digital content sales for 2012 to be around $450 million, with the annualized forecast between $700 million and $750 million.
