BEA Making Room for Greenspan’s Arrival
Book Expo America (BEA) has announced that the conference keynote by former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board Dr. Alan Greenspan has been moved to the Special Events Hall at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, June 1. Reportedly the session was moved to a larger venue at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Center convention facility in anticipation of a large turnout.
Dr. Greenspan will be interviewed by Andrea Mitchell, chief foreign affairs correspondent for NBC News, who is also Dr. Greenspan’s wife. The interview will focus on the process of writing his new book “The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World,” which is being published by The Penguin Press, and set to be released on Sept. 17.
“We are truly excited to be making this move,” said Lance Fensterman, event director for BEA. “We had planned for a very large turnout for Dr. Greenspan and we were preparing accordingly. But it quickly became apparent that no matter how much we planned, there was no way to anticipate the enormous crowd that is going to be eager to hear Dr. Greenspan speak. The obvious solution was to throw open the doors in the Special Events Hall and welcome everyone who will be in the building.”
The BEA conference programs will be held May 31–June 3, with the exhibition hall open June 1–3.
