Glatfelter Launches Customer-Focused Service Program
Specialty papers and engineered products manufacturer Glatfelter has rolled out a service program that provides customers with more flexibility for the products it offers.
The program offers distributors three book grades—Glatfelter Offset, End-Leaf and Restore Cote—in a range of shades, finishes and basis weights. Glat Offset is the company's premium uncoated book publishing paper designed for high-quality print jobs. End-Leaf is designed to form a strong bond between the text and case, and Restore Cote is a recycled, film-coated grade designed for the textbook market.
Under the new program, Glatfelter guarantees shipment within seven days of placing the order and eliminates trim requirements, says Dante Parrini, senior VP and general manager of York, Pa.-based Glatfelter. Trim requirements previously ranged from 75 inches to 88 inches for a large trade-book paper order, and 135 inches to 143 inches for environmental papers. The new service program coincides with a restructuring plan that includes cutting back on staff, improving product mix and increasing operating flexibility.
The service program, which began June 1, will be offered through Glatfelter's merchant channels.
