We asked Mr. Smelzer: Can you give an example of what magazine publishers overlook when it comes to finding new sources of revenue?
He said: It's old news now, but there are still magazine publishers who resist extending their brand into the digital and social media spaces and capitalizing on the revenue streams they provide. We're up 41% in online revenues this year (with an 8% lift overall), so clearly, there's money in them thar hills!
