Press Release: Slicebooks Announces White Label Partnership with Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group (R&L)
>PRWEB.COM NewswireDenver, Colorado (PRWEB) October 07, 2014
Publishing platform Slicebooks has announced a new white label agreement with Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, one of the leading independent publishers in the United States. Slicebooks will develop a white label version of its online retail platform Slicebooks Store for Rowman & Littlefield's journal division.
The Slicebooks publishing platform helps publishers repurpose content and sell direct to both institutions and individual consumers. It features four segments: the Slicebooks Content Management System (CMS); the iTunes-style Slicebooks Store; the newly launched and embeddable Mobile Store App; and a new white label program.
Publishers use the patent-pending CMS to "slice" books, magazines, journals and more to create new fully packaged micro content. They can mix and match slices or whole files, or "remix" any file, to create new custom ebooks. These custom compilations can be instantly published to the Slicebooks Store, the world's first to let consumers remix their own ebooks.
"We're thrilled to partner with Rowman & Littlefield to launch a white label store," said co-founder Jill Tomich. "Rowman & Littlefield's particular strengths in academic and government publishing, as well as its distribution reach via National Book Network, give us a great opportunity to introduce our platform to a wide variety of markets with just the kind of content needs Slicebooks was designed for."
Also included in the agreement is a new subscription module for Rowman & Littlefield that will enable users to purchase journal subscriptions. This subscription service will be available direct to individual consumers and will support Rowman & Littlefield's existing institutional customer base of libraries through agents. The subscription option will be offered alongside all forthcoming, frontlist, and backlist content. Customers will be able to "remix" content from any previous or new issue to create a custom ebook, and are also able to purchase any individual issue or article.
