This week, digital publishing solutions provider Aptara announced the release of eGen − their latest development in ePub conversion software. According to the company, the eGen platform is a web-based technology capable of generating large volumes of content that is e-book compatible, less costly than other available conversion solutions and ready for distribution to multiple e-book readers, including the Amazon Kindle, Apple iPhone and Barnes & Noble's new Nook device.
“What sets eGen apart from other conversion methods is its ability to transform complex books that include illustrations, pictures, formulas, graphs and sophisticated style sheets − eliminating most of the manual intervention typically required to assure high-quality output,” said Dev Ganesan, President and CEO of Aptara. “With faster time-to-market and consistent quality output, eGen makes e-book market entry more accessible and affordable than ever before for publishers with large and diverse content portfolios.”
Aptara plans to unveil eGen this December at the Online Information 2009 conference in London, England. To learn more, visit Aptara online.
