New HarperCollins Site Connects Readers to Authors Through Daily Offers
HarperCollins Publishers has launched Bookperk, a new website that gives readers "insider access into the world of publishing," according to the publisher. Those who register on the Bookperk website receive daily "perks"—delivered to their inbox every day—which include offers on premium content and author-signed first editions, opportunities to enter contests, and more.
For example, current Bookperk offers include a chance to win a signed copy of Justin Bieber's "First Step 2 Forever" and an opportunity to visit the office of Cosmopolitan Editor-in-Chief Kate White, author of "Hush."
"Bookperk offers a new opportunity to give readers the ultimate author experience by customizing special offerings," says Claire Goldwitz, product manager. "Authors are going beyond the written word and connecting with their audiences by hosting cocktail parties and Skype chats, calling into book clubs and hosting workout sessions."
