New York University College of Dentistry renews with Ingram’s VitalSource® for digital learning curriculum
(Press Release) NASHVILLE, TN – Vital Source Technologies, Inc., Ingram Content Group’s leading e-textbook solution for publishers, academic institutions, and students, today announced that New York University’s College of Dentistry has selected Vital Source for its innovative digital learning curriculum. Working together for a decade, the university has renewed its relationship with Vital Source for a new contract period.
“Vital Source has always been responsive to the needs of both our faculty and students and has enhanced and grown their e-textbook platform to meet the digital content requirements of our institution,” said Dr. Andrew Spielman, Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the College of Dentistry. “As one of the first dental schools to move to an all-digital curriculum, the range and depth of interactive learning materials we provide our students through the Vital Source program has helped us earn our reputation as one of the leading dental schools in the country.”
Dr. Spielman continued, “The VitalSource platform is an integral part of our teaching curriculum at NYU’s College of Dentistry and renewing our work with an educational e-content leader such as Vital Source was an easy decision.”
The New York University College of Dentistry began its work with Vital Source in 2001. The university directs all students in their program to use the VitalSource platform for all course materials including e-textbooks, interactive course materials, lectures, and other links to additional educational resources. Using the platform, students and educators at NYU’s College of Dentistry can access content via download, online or mobile options including popular iPad™, iPhone®, and iPod Touch® devices. Users can take and share notes and data with colleagues and highlight and annotate relevant items within the content they are working.
“It is a pleasure working with NYU’s School of Dentistry - our collaborative approach to enhancing the learning experiences of students is a huge win for NYU’s students, faculty and the industry overall,” said Kent Freeman, President, Vital Source Technologies, Inc. “At Vital Source, we are focused on helping publishers and institutions make content available in the forms that a student desires and we look forward to continuing our work with NYU, providing the finest enhanced content from the world’s leading publishers to the school’s learning community.”
