Random House Children's Books to Release 13 Judy Blume Classics as eBooks
New York, NY (March 7, 2012)—Random House Children’s Books will publish 13 of beloved author Judy Blume’s classic books for young readers as ebooks, it was announced today by Beverly Horowitz, VP & Publisher, Delacorte Press Books for Young Readers. Blume’s stories have entertained, informed, and generated discussions among readers about universal issues for more than 40 years, and now the legions of Blume fans who have grown up reading her books in print, as well as a whole new generation of readers, will be able to read them electronically. The new ebook editions will be available beginning March 21 in the U.S. and Canada, wherever Random House ebooks are sold.
"This is an exciting day for me," says Judy Blume. "I'm happy that my readers, many of whom have been patiently waiting, will now be able to choose which format works best for them to enjoy their favorite books."
March 21 marks the release of 10 titles as individual ebooks, including some of Blume’s most popular fiction: Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret; Deenie; Blubber; and Tiger Eyes. Readers will also enjoy Iggie’s House; It’s Not the End of the World; Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself; Then Again, Maybe I Won’t; Here’s to You, Rachel Robinson; and Just as Long as We’re Together. The three additional titles to be released at a later date, to be announced, are The One in the Middle Is the Green Kangaroo, Freckle Juice, and The Pain and the Great One, a picture book.
Blume’s New York Times bestselling chapter-book series featuring the siblings from The Pain and the Great One is currently available in ebook format from Random House. The quartet includes Soupy Saturdays; Cool Zone; Going, Going, Gone!; and Friend or Fiend?
